Again, it’s time to talk about the conclusions I got over the past few days…
Last weekend’s workshop with Jasmine Star and the people of creativelive helped me to don’t feel alone in photography. Yes, I’m saying “alone” although it seems we are a lot of people here but when it comes to talk to someone you may share your job with… if it’s not a friend, then you feel alone (and you are alone).
I’ve gone through many photographers’ websites, photographers I’d like to work with or photographers that do what I want to do… sometimes you get nice answers back and sometimes… let’s think their replies get lost somewhere in spam or the internet…
But it’s nice to find a place where you can share ideas, opinions and dreams with other people who are doing exactly the same thing you’re doing and who don’t feel you’re taking their jobs away from them. A place to share and learn. That is one of the pillars The Lonely Walkers is built in.
Visiting other photographers’ websites I get to the same feeling and conclusion: I sometimes get lost and don’t know how to start my own, I don’t know how to pour myself in it and, simply, I don’t know where to start… Why? I guess I look at those websites and feel they’re not telling me who is that person and I don’t feel I can hide behind a “contact” or “about” page… simply telling how much I like photography and telling all my experience is not enough for me… that is not “me”.
So jumping into a new pool of identity and difference… there’s no water but I’m inspired to fill it, that is not a problem.
Is there any way you have created your identity? any strong pillar? what is what most inspired you to build your identity?
I once read someone who wrote about a “philosphy” in their “about” page… they had created a whole philosophy they built their life and their business in… that was very inspiring…
