MIRRORS: Birgit Kippner

1968, Linz/Austria.

I lived in New York for eight years.

I have been living in New Zealand for the last eight years.

  • Who are you?

I am a person with a lot of sensitivity and the ability of reading in between the lines.

  • What is it that took you to see the world through a lens?

It was really myself who chose the lens to communicate and translate my feelings to the people.

  • What do you write between lines?

It’s the not obvious of a moment which becomes obvious on the photograph. My capturing people is raw and un-perfumed.

What can we see in your mirror?
Being authentic.

  • Define you in 5 words.

SENSIBLE: often I sense things what other people don’t sense.
RAW: It’s not about smiling. It’s about capturing the inside.
HONEST: I do not pretend.
LOVE: love is my most preferred feeling. In love everything is much better.
SOUL: capturing somebody’s soul makes my photos special.

  • Define you in 5 pictures (yours)
  • Tell us the quotes that describe you best.

Oscar Wilde: “Do never rashly reject a temptation. It may never return.”

  • Recommend us a photographer (or as many as you want!)

not sure

  • Your motto?

Do not control – live your life to the fullest. Be aware and do not feel guilt for your actions.

  • Where can we see you?
